Two Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
